If you are Horde yourself, then the only fights you can have with other Horde players are 'duels' and no one can 'die' from them. If you are an Alliance character, though, you can 'attack Horde players' if you want ... just be sure that you are not attacking a character that is 'too high' in level for you to fight alone (or for you and your party to fight) ... and if that Horde character has a 'double question mark' instead of a level number, then you are probably going to 'die' several times during that 'fight' ... Hope this helps you 'decide' what kind of 'character' you want to play ... there are very few 'strictly PVP servers' I know of, and my server (Misha, low population) has both PVP and 'regular' players and has both Horde and Alliance in both 'categories.' In fact, if I or my partner 'attack a PVP player' we turn 'PVP' while we are in the fight, and for five minutes afterward ... even though we are basically 'regular' players.
