World of Warcraft PVE

I know what the actual differences are between the two realm type. My question is more about what, if any, differences there are in the general population of the two server types.

[*]more/less mature players
[*]guilds more/less focused on raiding
[*]more/less experienced players
[*]better/worse economy for making money with professions
[*]easier/harder to find PUG’s for instances
[*]any other difference you think you may have noticed

Now I know with all of the above mentioned things, there will certainly be
other factors that effect it, such as realm population, realm age, and what not.

So my question is if realm type tends to factor into any of these things
(or any I didn’t think of), and how so.

FYI: I started on a PVP realm because i liked the idea, but it seems to me, that most of my world PVP encounters, involve someone at ?? lvl to me strolling by and ganking me.

So i think I want to go PVE, but I know if i do I can never xfer my main back to PVP
I just want to be clear that when I say ganked, I mean that I am grey to the ganker. I wouldnt mind if that happend accasionally. But when 95% of the time an allie picks a fight with me, its way higher lvl, meaning that they are not getting any honor from killing me. If it was even only 50% of the fights allies pick with me, it wouldnt bother me so much.

And as far as revenge, goes, I wouldnt find it fun to gank low lvls for no honor. To me the WHOLE POINT of PVP, is to have a real fight. If i dont have to try — its not fun. Although I may stick around the PVP just so when i hit 70 I can go antagonize the allies who stand around cities and one shot lowbies.

If I were you i would stick it out in the PvP server. Trust me, it may be tougher to level up but in the end it is well worth it. In a PvE server once you have already done all the new instances and got the best items there is nothing left to do. In PvP however you can always go and gank others for revenge. I have a druid on a PvP and shaman on a PvE and once i got my shaman to 60, I never went back to him again. And another plus is that most PvP servers have more players which allows group finding to be much easier. Just hang in there and it will al pay off eventually.

I have 60’s on both PvP and PvE. I think there are well populated servers for both types, so its just a question of where do you want to play.. I am on a PvE server now Gnomeregan that seems to have a better economy than my PvP server Cho’gall, most of my auctions sell in 24 hours if they are reasonably priced. IMO I prefer PvE now because I can choose when and where to fight someone instead of being attacked while I’m eating/drinking/midcombat by someone 20 levels higher.

Check out the server populations and just pick a big one:

PvP is better imo. I play a 63 NE Druid on Deathwing and we have a good economy, good PvE attendence, and good PvPin in BGs and World PvP. Getting ganked sucks, but if nething it should just make you want to lvl faster. Neways with BC out most peeps 58+ are in Outlands lvlin not ganking and neone not 58+ is most likely lvlin hard to get to 58+.

If you don’t like getting ganked, then PvP servers aren’t for you. World fighting is what makes a PvP server….well..a PvP server.

PvE gives you the option to face the opposite faction in BGs ONLY and lets you quest in peace.

On a PvP server, you can’t expect someone of the opposite faction to just pass you by all the time. Allis and Horde sometimes work together just to get quests done, but there are some that are just out for the honor.

I am a grade 11 student living in Canada and as you may have guessed im a fan of World of Warcraft. I got the game not much before the Burning Crusade came out and have been a fan ever since. Currently I am working on getting my lvl 70 char to 80 in my free time, as well as making this site of coarse. I am not taking any credit for the information put on the site as I have posted it from other locations and from other people's posts.
