World of Warcraft PVE
jake asked:

I want to play hardcore. I want to get really into the game. I also want to interact with other players and feel the pride that my character feels. PVP or PVE. Or should I buy a different game?
P.S I am not affraid to die. If I do join PVP, I will probablly be happy to kill 1 peson withing a week
Oh, another question (sry!) Is there any place in World Of Warcraft that is safe on PVP? I dont mean completley safe but somewhat safe?

PVP games are pretty fun, but you could look around for blitzkrieg, its a fun RTS game based on WWII events.

if you have never played MMO go to a pve server otherwise on pvp you will die alot and get pissed off which takes away from the experience.

Play on PvP server. It’s the most hardcore. ***warning*** the ganking can be pretty bad, particularly between level 30-60.

For hardcore players, its definitely straight to the PvP servers.

However, if you wish to interact and ‘feel what your character feels,’ then I would strongly suggest RPPvP.

The difference? PvP is just Player vs. Player, while RPPvP is Role-Playing Player vs. Player. In RPPvP, everyone is acting out their character, or at least should be. People can get very serious about their RPed character, and its fun to join in the action.

Honestly, plain PvE is for very casual players. Nothing will seem very epic to you, or thrilling; if you get angry easily, maybe PvE or RP (also PvE) is for you. However, the anger that comes from the enemy faction character jumping out and killing you, is returned with pleasure when you turn the table and show them a lesson when they’re in the middle of battle.

As for other games, all I can think of is Final Fantasy XI. The game is VERY long, and takes much longer to level than WoW. However, the god fights are pretty big, and the missions combined with the music can be pretty exciting. When you hit max level, you will be much more proud than you would in WoW. However, the game is very old and nowhere near as many players as WoW. Your choice.

    Cheers

I play on PVP server, and it’s a royal pain some of the times, but in general I like it. You’re gonna get ganked alot, that’s for sure.

Any area that is specifically your faction’s area you will not get attacked in. The major cities, for example, and all the starting areas. The name of the area will be green if it’s safe for you, orange if it’s contested (each faction is open to attack each other) and red if it’s the opposite faction’s area (they can attack you, you can’t attack them unless they hit you first).

Sounds like you have never played before. Go PvE until you learn the game and your way around, then go PvP. I’m on PvE and last month horde invaded SW, it was a bloodbath, so PvE is NOT boring.

If you want to be hardcore, go for PvP. You can check the server populations for Horde v. Alliance and see which faction will have less likelihood of getting ganked. For example, I’m Alliance on Bloodscalp, and the Horde population is higher (also, they have more higher-level characters), and so leveling is a real pain in the behind. Once you hit the first contested area, there are level 70 horde who gank non-stop all the way up. By “gank”, I don’t mean a fair fight, I mean a group of high-level players who will camp your corpse for an hour.

If you want to really explore the world, and figure out where everything is, I would roll PvE at first. If you get to a little higher level and decide it’s boring, you can roll another toon on a PvP server. I only went PvP because the friends who got me in the game were all on that server. Sometimes it’s fun, but most of the time, I think it’s annoying. The PvE servers still have battlegrounds and PvP quests/objectives.

    Good luck – it’s a fun game.

Both kinds of servers can cater to the hardcore, but if you have never played before PVP can be hard to level up on. I suggest hitting the battlegrounds which you can from lvl 10 and up. Some classes tend to cater more towards hardcore PVP than others as well. Do a little research to see what would fit your playstyle.

To answer your question about where is relatively safe on a PVP server, if you are in one of your factions racial starting zones or secondary zone(ie for the undead either Tirisfal Glades or Silverpine forest) it is considered friendly territory and you are not flagged. If you are in a neutral territory or a hostile territory you will be automatically flagged.

    Hope this helps

Both are a lot of fun, but if you are looking for more character interaction, PVP is the way to go…unless of course you enjoy sitting on the LFG search waiting for quest groups..
